I got these beautiful roses from my boyfriend this evening, when he got home from work. Tonight we are celebration our 8 month anniversary. We're going out for dinner and cocktails!

chulabhorn research institute

Today was my first day at Chulabhorn were I'll work for the next five months. This first week I will observe the different projects and get to know the people in my lab - they all seem very nice already. Next week, I will have chosen whether to work on a liver cancer project or arsenic project. Right now, I find them both extremely interesting. This is a picture of the glass roof inside the building. It's pretty. The silver thing is the elevators.

Today we had california rolls (they were unusually green but still fabulous) and went grocery shopping. This is a small part of the selection of sake in our local store. I've never actually tried it. Next time, perhaps... They bottles look nice.

Pictures from Night of Narz here in Bangkok. Narz is a huge cool nightclub that's very close to where I live. I wore a black open shirt, leather pants and Hugo Boss sandals. I love drinks and fluorescent light.

Had froyo in Siam Paragon today. It's super delicious. I always have natural yogurt flavour with berries. Yummy! I also bought a powder in Yves Saint Laurent.

I just bought a new Yves Saint Laurent powder and now I'm hitting the gym. Later I'm going to a nightclub called Narz with my boyfriend. My sweet sister back in Scandinavia is going to the The Libertines concert in Copenhagen tonight. I've been wanting to see them for about four years and now that I'm in Bangkok, they've finally reunited and are playing back home...

Wearing black in the summer... Well, it's not officially summer here in Bangkok but it feels like it. I don't know. I just find it hard to wear black when it's warm outside - unless it's a black lace or silk dress. I'm staring to miss my leather jacket a little bit. I might go to The Kooples this week to see if I can find a businessy mini or pencil skirt and black slacks.

I know this is post is somewhat random, but I really just liked the picture. Back home I never drink enough water during the day, but out here, I can't seem to get enough of it... I prefer Singha Soda or still mineral water.

Finally I found and got my beloved Burberry watch from The City Collection. I bought it in Siam Paragon and it's both gold and silver. My autistic jewellery-matching-freak self can finally relax and combine silver and gold without feeling poorly matched. Thanks Mum! I absolutely love it!

black straw hat

I got two new straw hats the other day, one black and one straw coloured. They are super big, probably about 1 meter in diameter. I'm really looking forward to sitting on the beach and by the pool in this giant shadow-creating hat. Here, I'm also wearing my Twiggy Stardust Triangl bikini.

After the huge lunch at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit we went to the Lumphini Park to walk it off... Right now, there's a thunderstorm outside and it's evening. Maybe I'll go down and play some pool, eat some popcorn and watch a movie. Tomorrow, I plan on going to Siam Paragon and do some shopping. I'm in a desperate need of hair products.

oysters & caviar blinis

Went to Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit to have lunch today. They had lots of yummy stuff. Here're some of the things I had; juice drinks, blinis with caviar and oysters. I also had lots of shellfish and dessert. First time I'm having dessert in a long time, actually.

the kooples fall 2014

Here are two things from The Kooples that I would love in my wardrobe this fall. These crepe trousers that are great for work and university, as well as the chunky silver necklace. I like wearing simple outfits with statement accessories.

bao & buns

This evening we got dinner from Bao & Buns. They serve Taiwanese streetburgers with pulled pork, chicken or beef. We also got spicy taro sticks and a passionfruit/lychee soda. Everything was super delicious! I am so eating there again. Next time, I'll also just buy a plain Bao - they are the best buns ever!

 This afternoon and evening turned out way better than my morning. My boyfriend and I took a long walk to the Benjakiti Park and around the lake. We also paddled a boat that looked like a swan, which was very cozy and romantic. I'm wearing my new New Balance sneakers, by the way. Everything else is Nike. I also think I might've seen L.O.C. on the way back.

waste of time

Today I spent my day at the Immigration Bureau. It was quite a waste of time and energy. I waited for four hours and I didn't even get the VISA I wanted. Now, I'm going to Singapore next week to get the VISA so I can start working!

meeting at chulabhorn research institute

Today I had a meeting at Chulabhorn Research Institute where I will be a research intern for the next six months. I will work at the Department of Environmental Toxicology, which is very exciting!

i work out

I've been going to the gym every day (except two days) since I arrived. I'm quite healthy here. Without the candy they sell at home and with all the fresh fruit, it's easy. I'm also drinking a lot more water than I usually do, of course the climate is also completely different.

benjasiri park

Went to the Benjasiri Park this evening. We took a walk there and fed the turtles. They are so cute! But rather difficult to feed since the fish (yes, the ones with the whiskers and big mouths) try to steal it. When we were about to leave, walking out of the park, I realized that everybody stood up - completely still. So we did as well. Apparently, they play the Thai national anthem every morning and night.
