tapas time

Image 1
I decided to spoil myself with some tapas earlier this week because I've pretty much been a studying loner all of last weekend... I know I'm posting this at a rather odd time but I'm going to school soon and afterwards I'm going home to pack and stuff for the weekend's adventures! I'm so ready for some social time in the sun!

bread & beverages

Image 3
I've had lunch with my Mum today at "Møllers Kaffe & Køkken" here in Copenhagen. They have the best freshly squeezed orange juice ever and I can't even begin to describe the whipped butter, it is so so good! I'm going back to school soon and then I'm going to a meeting tonight. I'm a little nervous about that! But before that, we're going to take some pics but the weather is a little tricky at the moment.

iki sushi

Image 9Image 12
We just got back from the sushi place and we're both extremely full! We had dinner at Iki sushi that I wrote about in a previous post and it was really good and nicely plated. Other than that, I've been to school today. Afterwards we went to my Grandparents' place and had a cup of tea and a chat and then we went back to my apartment. Since we got back to Copenhagen last night and I brought a bunch of stuff like new plants and whatnot, I had to do a bit of cleaning, studying and then we watched some TV and went to the gym (leg day). Now, we're going to get in our pyjamas and watch some more "The Killing" before going to sleep. It's super exciting but I'm getting up early tomorrow so we have to go to bed pretty soon.

sunday hangout vibes

Image 4Image 7Image 15
It was sunny today so we decided to go on a little trip out and about. We drove to Holy Smoke because they opened only two days ago. We shared their pulled pork and brisket (the brisket has been in the smoker for 14 hours and it literally melts in your mouth - to die for)! It's really true to concept and cozy - particularly when the weather is nice because you can hangout by the fire and grill marshmallows after lunch or dinner. However, my Burberry Paddington coat and pashmina shawl really smelled smoky. Anyway, we had a great time. Perfect Sunday hangout place!

garage again

Image 4
Today I've been to Garage with my BFF and her dog Nelson to celebrate the first day of my easter vacay (which is barely existent). We had the world's most scrumptious hamburgers before going for a walk. Unfortunately, it was really cold so we went home almost immediately. And at home, the weather was a lot better so my Mum and I walked down to Holy Greens to get a salad for dinner. Now I've just studied for a short while and I'm going to watch some tv and relax. Do you have any plans for easter? I plan on baking some cakes tomorrow - perhaps key lime pie and pavlovas? And I'm doing a bit of gardening for my new apartment too.

open face lumpfish roe sandwich

Image 1Image 2Image
A few pics form our lunch at Café Norden yesterday. It really is one of my fave places (perhaps because of the Scandinavian vibe) and it was such a long time ago since I was there. I tried their delicious seasonal lumpfish roe dish that I've never tried before because I haven't been there in April. I adore the ceiling ornament and the interior. Too bad it's always super busy! Sunnies from Fendi, earrings from Dior and shirt from Ralph Lauren.

pisco & pear

IMG_8227
I woke up pretty late today because last night was really fun! So today I've spent some quality time with my boyfriend. We studied a bit in the morning and then I went to yoga. I was quite worried I couldn't go because of my hand but it wasn't as tough as it usually is (thank God). Then my boyfriend and I went for a walk and got him some new gym stuff before grocery shopping and heading back home and making yummy dinner. Right now, we've just gotten back from Helium, which is my favourite cocktail lounge in Copenhagen. I've been wanting to show it to my boyfriend for a while now but we've had other plans almost all Fridays and Saturdays. So now we finally went there and it was lovely as usual - we had the classic pisco sour and a "Rye & Pear" whiskey cocktail, that was quite nice and grown up candy-ish. Now we're watching a series before going to bed pretty early.

spring seafood lunch

Image 1
Today we went to have lunch with my Grandparents, so we spent most of the day there. We had a wonderful lunch with asparagus, salmon, lumpfish roe and shrimps! It's the first time this year I had shrimps and they were so good! Love, love, love seafood! I forgot to take pics though because I was deep into eating mode. Later we're going to get some pizza for dinner and go for a walk. Altogether, a pretty relaxed Sunday.

holy greens chèvre salad

holygreenschevreholygreens
We went for an evening walk yesterday where we tried out another salad from Holy Greens. The chèvre salad was really good too. I think my favourite one is still the one with salmon and avocado but this one was really nice too. Next time I'm trying chèvre/chicken, spring falafel or the Vietnamese beef one. Today I've been to school for a couple of hours and now I've just gotten back from hatha yoga and some grocery shopping and now getting in the shower before going to sleep. I have a pretty long day ahead of me tomorrow.

garage california classic & two kinds of fries

garageburgers
We went on a little roadtrip today to buy some kitchen essentials in Iittala, have a look in Magasin 36 and have lunch at Garage. We had the Californa Classic as usual, with regular fries and sweet potato fries plus a vanilla milkshake. They really are the best burgers - a lot better than another fave Gasolin in Copenhagen. And I got lots of pretty things in Iittala. Now we're back home and I'm going to take a bath and have a facial afterwards. The perfect way to recharge before the new week (even though I have tomorrow off).

salmon balls at the union kitchen

Image 10
My BFF and her boyfriend came to meet me here in Copenhagen and we had a really nice time. We had lunch at The Union Kitchen and I had salmon balls with avocado and grape salad. Trying to stay semi healthy... Then we went shopping and I didn't really get anything but I bought a Chanel perfume for my boyfriend because they have a sale in Magasin this weekend. Anyway, it was really nice seeing my BFF and meeting her boyfriend and now I'm really tired and heading to bed. Looking forward to a nice, efficient and relaxing weekend.

holy greens salmon & avocado

Image 3
I decided to spend a couple of days at home because I don't have any lectures. So I'm spending some time with my Mum, going for walks and today we got these salads from Holy Greens. I've been boycotting it for years because I tried one of their food smoothies and it was absolutely disgusting (no offence). It really tasted as if they had put a kilogram of cardamum in there (and I usually like cardamum but that was a tad too much). Anyway, they've taken the "food smoothies" off the menu and these salmon and avocado salads were to die for! Super healthy, tasty and filling!

birthday dinner at pluto

IMG_6690
My Mum and I went to Pluto for her birthday. We we're really lucky to get a table because it was super vibrant and full and we hadn't booked a table or anything. Anyway, we shared a starter and then I had scallops and my Mum had cod. We weren't too hungry after a pretty big brunch, hamburger and snacks though so the lightness of the food fitted quite well. The food was really good and I'm definitely going back again - it was pretty cheap and very good. A perfect combo for a night out with friends. I just got back from a Les Milles Body Flow workout at my local fitness centre, which was nice. Definitely going back there. Anyway, now I'm going to jump in the shower and Skype with my boyfriend afterwards. Other than that, I haven't done much else than studying today. I'm hoping to post some outfit posts at the end of this week and hopefully there'll be an inspo post coming up tomorrow. I hope you have had a lovely start of the week. Goodnight!

snacking in pink

IMG_6286
I just got back from work and showered and I'm so, so sleepy. And a little hungry - that's why I'm midnight snacking on raspberry sorbet from Gio. I adore that ice cream and I'm definitely going to restock my freezer once I get my new Smeg fridge! Bed linen is from H&M Home, pyjamas is from Victoria's Secret and ice cream from Gio.

valentine's day michelin dinner

Image 3Image 2
Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you're all spending it with the ones you love whether it be family, friends or your partner. I've invited my Mum for dinner tonight, which we'll definitely need after a long day of shopping and walking about. We've just picked up the food at Kokkeriet and are supposed to heat the main courses ourselves. These pics are showing the dessert which was dark chocolate and red berry puree with a chocolate egg on top with some kind of chocolate filling and berry jelly inside. Gotipster has a really clever concept where you can order food online and this time I really felt like trying Kokkeriet's Valentine's Day dinner. What better way to celebrate Valentine's day than with some Michelin food!? One of the main courses we tried was cod, mussels sauce, carrots, lemon thyme and potato puree. The other one consisted of beef, mushrooms and truffle puree with onions and red wine sauce. Everything we had was just heavenly and I deeply recommend Gotipster and Kokkeriet for some luxury takeaway!

nabo copenhagen

IMG_5667IMG_5665IMG_5662IMG_5666IMG_5663Here are some food pics from the weekend! We had dinner at Nabo, which is Kadeau's little brother. We've been fans of Kadeau ever since my sister and I had our "confirmation" at Kadeau Bornholm. We had some dehydrated carrots and some kind of soya and octopus tea that I cannot recall the name of. Then I had fried cod roe, then cod and I had a blood orange dish for dessert. Unfortunately, it had some fermented blood orange juice on it that really had a quite harsh taste. Other than that, everything was good. They also have a Monday food concept where I think they have a sort of buffet. Definitely going to try that out someday. Now I'm going to sleep because I have work early in the morning. Over and out.

P.S. My dress is from Boohoo.

restaurant koefoed

Image 1Image 2Image
Hey pretty followers! I've been busy this weekend because my family has been here but tonight my blog will perfectly up to date. We had lunch with my Grandparents at Restaurant Koefoed, which is a Danish (Bornholmian?) restaurant serving classic "smørrebrød" with a modern twist. The food we had was so delicious! I had the first and third dish. The first one was avocado, Rossini caviar and crab meat (which is probably my fave shellfish). The second picture was a herring fried in salt with lots of beetroot (I tasted it and it was amazing) and the third picture is of tartlets with lobster and poor man's asparagus. Definitely a lovely place to go for Sunday lunch. The ice tea (I'm an ice tea addict - if I could live off of ice tea and popcorn I would) was really good too and the Bornholmian "honningsyp" was good too even though I'm not the biggest fan of schnapps. I hope you've had a great Saturday.

pisco sour week at helium

IMG_5668
We just got home and it's pretty late but I thought I'd just drop a post before going to bed. We had dinner at Nabo today, which was good but I'll post about that later. Perhaps next week because I think you've seen quite a lot of food pics on my blog this week. Anyway, after dinner we tried out a cocktail bar called Helium. It's located on Bredgade and the interior was pretty dark, mystic and cozy. It was apparently pisco sour week and since we really like pisco sours (throwing us back to Mallorca last summer where I had some piscos at Patron Lunares). So yummy! I love the foam on top and the sourness of the cocktail. The ones at Helium were decorated beautifully too. It's definitely a place I'll go back to with some girlfriends or my boyfriend another time but now I'm off to bed. Night.

kokkeriet part 2

Image 7Image 4Image 5Image 13Image 15Image 14Image 11Image 8Image 9
And here's Part 2! The 1st picture (from the top) is of a test dish we had with a fried ball of crab meat (I think?), the 2nd course was langoustine, kale and Skagen ham, the 3rd one was Jerusalem artichoke, beetroot and truffle , then we moved on to a modern take on a traditional Danish food called "hens and asparagus in tartlets". It consisted of a quail, fermented garlic and an octopus tartlet and was surprisingly good even though I dislike both main ingredients. Everything is better in fancy restaurants... The 4th dish was venison, plums and a bitter chocolate sauce that was quite interesting. Then we had our 5th course with lamb ravioli that was also surprisingly good - perhaps a bit too intense lamb taste for my taste. Then we moved over to the desserts where we had: 1st course was cucumber, white chocolate and mint. The 2nd dessert (boy, do I love that combination of words) was lemon, caramel and sorrel sorbet with liquorice meringue on top and the 3rd dessert consisted of caramel, snow and a sorbet. Everything was really good and we were so full when we left! I was actually quite afraid that my boyfriend wouldn't be full at all after the meal. Luckily, that wasn't the case. They also served whipped butter (yum) and a bread that was out of this world. How come restaurant bread is so much better than regular bread that you bake yourself? Anyway, I highly recommend Kokkeriet if you wish to try Danish and "new nordic" cuisine at a restaurant with a  Michelin star.

kokkeriet part 1

IMG_5430IMG_5431IMG_5432IMG_5433IMG_5434IMG_5435IMG_5436Image 10Image 6
Here are some of the dishes we had at Kokkeriet last night. It truly was a magical evening and I actually liked everything that we had. Usually that's rather tricky because I dislike poultry, lamb and all innards... Anyway, the interior was beautiful, the service was good and the food was superb. Here's what he had (from above). The 1st snack was crispy onions, smoked cheese and löjrom, 2nd snack was cod and beetroot, 3rd was a modern take on the classis Danish hen salad, 4th was cured beef, crispy potato and pickled cucumber and the 5th was a liquid Waldorf salad. Then we had an amuse bouche consisting of crab, cabbage and chamomile. Then we had our first test dish consisting of lumpfish roe and some other things that I unfortunately do not recall. Then we had our 1st dish consisting of scallop, pear and verbena and the 2nd one consisting of pike-perch, yellow peas and pine. These two last dishes were definitely my favourites of all the starters! The roe dishes were also phenomenal. Well, I'm a huge seafood fan so I was really happy with the amount of fish and shellfish! The next courses are coming up when I've written the menu in the post.
