The world's tallest building at the moment: Burj Khalifa. 828 m. tall and 163 floors with Armani Hotel & Residences at the top. Boy, would it be nice to own such an apartment!? Anyway, it was really cool to stand on level 124 and look at the desert, The World (see it on the last picture out in the water), Burj Al Arab, the world's biggest fountain and hotels, shopping malls etc. all around. Did you know that Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol was filmed here?

Me in front of Burj Al Arab. It is extremely hot in Dubai 24/7... But because of Ramadan we all have to cover ourselves up, that's why I'm not wearing my short yacht hotpants but tees with sleeves... Anyways, Burj Al Arab was a cool building. Prefer Burj Khalifa though...

the lost chambers

Of course we had to drop by "The Lost Chambers" to see fish and aquariums. Actually it was pretty nice, I always find it kind of soothing and relaxing to go to aquariums. It is just so quiet in there and it feels like you're under water.

african burger & passionfruit mojito

Ate at Tribes in Dubai Mall, had (as the title of the post says) a burger and a passionfruit mojito which was surprisingly good. Wearing a very casual outfit and no makeup, I try to avoid it during the summer to give my skin and eyelashes a break. The negative thing about it is that you remember how annoying it is to wash off the makeup. Big problems...

reel cinema

Went to the cinema in Dubai Mall a couple of days ago to see "The Dark Knight Rises". Chose the salty popcorn over the sweet ones. Which do you prefer?

mall of the emirates

dubai views by day

Just took a picture of the hotel from the beach, it is pretty cool. From our room we have a fantastic view, we can see right down into a huge aquarium and in the horizon we see the Burj Al Arab Hotel. More pictures coming up, of course!

kathmandu city

On the last day of our mini trip to Kathmandu, Nepal, we went to Kathmandu City to go to a museum, see the buildings etc. It was nice. Love the old Chinese buildings. Guess I better start taking some pictures here in Dubai then, since this is the last post from Kathmandu (at least for now...!).

dolphins

The amazing experience I wrote about yesterday was: swimming with dolphins! Dolphins are truly beautiful creatures, this one with which we were swimming, was so cute and named S2. I got a kiss and a hug as seen above. And I kind of surfed with a dolphin pushing my foot, and then I was sort of dragged by two dolphins. Had the best time. I want a dolphin!

locked up

Have you realized that there's a huge difference between hotels - even in the smallest details? Just look at the keys to the rooms! The lock and key above are from the hotel in Kathmandu and the one below is from Dubai. Which key is more awesome? And which key would you rather carry?

dwarika's hotel

When we were in Kathmandu we stayed at this lovely hotel; Dwarika's Hotel. The surroundings, the atmosphere and the service were wonderful. I mean, look at the buildings and the interior - it feels like you're in another century!

monkey temple

Here I am at the Monkey Temple and boy - there were lots of monkeys and I must admit that I was a little scared of them. But the baby monkeys looked quite funny. Also went to visit a monastery while we were on top of the hill. And there were lots of stairs just to get there...
