chocolate desserts & champagne
Some food from Sofitel in Siem Reap. We celebrated my Grandmother's birthday with a nice dinner with champagne and oysters. During the days in Siem Reap, we also had a couple of desserts: chocolate soufflé and chocolate fondant. Both were super delicious! I am not fond of dark chocolate but these desserts had a perfect chocolate taste.

angkor wat
Pictures from the stunning Angkor Wat. Today we actually arrived in Hua Hin where we'll spend New Year's Eve. I miss Siam Reap and I would have liked to explore all the different temples and ruins in the area but there was too little time and during the day it was extremely hot. We also went to Angkor National Museum and it was super nice. I preferred the real buildings though. If you go there, keep in mind that you have to cover shoulders and knees. This was quite tricky for me but I anyway managed to put something pretty nice together.

angkor thom
Angkor Thom was just amazing! It's such an incredible feeling and experience walking about in a building from the 12th century. The places are also well kept despite of the degradation of the weather and there are so many details and so much history to dwell on, look at and imagine. Walking there is such an adventure!

grandmother's birthday dinner
We stayed at the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort Hotel in Siam Reap, Cambodia which was a very nice and sort of colonial styled hotel. The 25th we had dinner at the Cambodian/French restaurant in the hotel to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. It was very nice and we had champagne and oysters. I'm wearing the same dress as when I graduated in these pictures; Korean lace.

christmas & sirocco
Merry Christmas!
This picture is from Sirocco last night when I had a tuna steak and a delicious Bouquet cocktail at the fancy Sirocco restaurant here in Bangkok. I have been shopping with my sister all day and this evening we had a Danish Christmas dinner and I've gotten lots of fabulous and pretty presents! Thank you so much! Tomorrow, we're heading for Angkor Wat in Cambodia! I hope I'll have lots of beautiful pictures to post when I get back in a couple of days. Anyway, I wish you a wonderful Christmas!

inspiration # 37
Some christmassy winter inspiration... It seems like people either go to really snowy places and ski or really sunny places to tan and swim. I belong to the latter group this year, how about you? I would love to celebrate Christmas in Aspen, New York and Bruges sometime in my life. These pictures are from Vogue where they featured 30 old archive pictures from the past winter issues. White skiwear still seems very fresh and in but I've never been allowed to be all white up in the slope in case I got lost in an avalanche. I like the dark green fur in the last picture, though.

winsor & newton water colour markers
I got these pretty new water colour markers from my Mum a while ago. They are from my favourite brand Winsor & Newton whose drawing and art stuff is always so gorgeous and fun. These markers are a new take on traditional aquarelle paint and they are super fun to play around with. I think I'll mostly paint abstract or semi-abstract things with them, though. This picture is just me playing around and learning how to handle the water colour markers with the water. I prefer to paint on the aquarelle paper with water first and then gently letting the water absorb colour from the markers so it diffuse sort of naturally. Pretty colours though!

white beds
I love light and white interior and these pictures from The White Company are gorgeous. A little sterile but in these interior pictures you always have to imagine the personal touch yourself... Last night I couldn't fall asleep so I though about what my future house, garden and interior would look like. It was a nice idea I think and I really recommend it if you can't fall asleep. Telling you all about my future home would take some time, so I guess I won't do that. I hope you are all very well. I'm still a little bit sick but today I went to my dance class, which was a lot of fun. As always!
